HOW ONGOING PLANS WORK

  • Small Steps and Regular are ongoing memberships billed fortnightly, with a minimum term of 7 fortnightly debits.
  • At sign-up, you prepay your final 5 weeks of scheduled classes. This is held as your final-class credit: 5 class credits on Small Steps or 10 class credits on Regular. The exact amount is shown in the pricing card and before payment. It is an advance payment for classes, not an additional membership fee.
  • After the minimum term of 7 fortnightly debits, your membership continues month to month, with payments processed fortnightly, and may be cancelled with 30 days' written notice.
  • To prevent your next scheduled debit, BX1 must receive your cancellation notice before that debit is processed. Once notice is received, no further scheduled membership debits will be taken.
  • A debit processed before BX1 receives your notice is not reversed. You may use any classes from that debit, together with your prepaid final-class credits, during the 30-day notice period.
  • Remaining class credits expire at the end of the notice period and are not refundable or transferable, except where required by Australian Consumer Law. Your membership cannot be frozen after cancellation notice is received.

Full cancellation and membership conditions are set out in the BX1 membership terms and conditions.

KIDS MEMBERSHIP FAQ

A few things parents often ask before joining.

Which trial option is right for my child?

The younger children's Karate trial is for ages 3–8. The $40 Junior First Timer 2 Pack is for children aged 9+ who want to try eligible Junior Boxing, Junior Muay Thai, Junior MMA or Junior Karate classes. For children aged 9–11, our team will recommend the most suitable Kids Karate or Junior option. For students aged 12+, Junior classes may still be suitable, or an adult class may be a better fit. Please enquire with reception so our team can recommend the right starting point.

Which membership price applies to my child?

Children aged 3–8 use the Little Ninjas and Little Samurai pricing. Children and teens aged 9+ use the Junior and Teen pricing. For students aged 12+, an adult class may sometimes be more suitable than a Junior class. We will confirm the most suitable class before the trial.

Do classes run during school holidays?

Yes. Eligible kids classes continue during NSW school holidays except public holidays. Children on an ongoing plan can book unlimited suitable holiday classes, subject to the timetable, age, level and available places.

Are dedicated holiday camps included?

No. Dedicated camps are occasional, separately priced programs open to members, non-members and beginners. Dates, ages, times, activities and prices are announced for each selected holiday period.

What happens after the minimum term?

After the minimum term of 7 fortnightly debits, Small Steps and Regular continue month to month, with payments processed fortnightly, and may be cancelled with 30 days' written notice. At sign-up, the final 5 weeks of scheduled classes are prepaid: 5 class credits for Small Steps or 10 class credits for Regular. To prevent the next scheduled debit, BX1 must receive your notice before that debit is processed. Once notice is received, no further scheduled membership debits will be taken. Any classes from a debit already processed, together with your prepaid final-class credits, may be used during the 30-day notice period. Your remaining credits expire when that period ends and are not refundable or transferable, except where required by Australian Consumer Law. Membership cannot be frozen after cancellation notice is received. See the BX1 membership terms and conditions for full details.

What uniform or equipment will my child need?

Comfortable sports clothing and a water bottle are suitable. All kids classes are barefoot except Junior Boxing, where boxing boots are recommended for secure footwork and ankle support; clean sports shoes or sneakers may also be worn. BX1 sells boxing boots. Boxing gloves and hand wraps are required for all Boxing and Muay Thai classes. No uniform is required for the younger children's Karate trial. Complimentary hand wraps are included in the Junior First Timer 2 Pack, and boxing gloves can be hired at reception for $5 per class. After enrolment, requirements vary by program—for example, a Karate uniform for Karate or suitable protective equipment for Boxing, Muay Thai or MMA. Reception will confirm the correct items and sizes. Enrol on the trial day to receive 10% off the first uniform or equipment purchase.

What is the $70 joining fee?

It is a once-only fee charged when a child first becomes a BX1 member, including on a Casual option. It covers membership administration and insurance and is not charged simply for taking a trial.

Is Karate grading included in membership?

No. Karate grading is optional and paid separately when a student is invited. Early-bird grading is $85 for coloured belts and $110 for brown or black belts, including the exam, new belt, BX1 medal and certificate.

Can an Active and Creative Kids voucher cover the full cost?

A valid Active and Creative Kids voucher can be applied only to eligible costs. If it does not cover the full amount, the remaining balance is payable by the family. Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.
